When is it okay to kiss up to your boss? Packed with wisdom -- and quotes from evryone from Maya Angelou to Liz Phair -- it'll help you navigate life's highs and lows ! with style and substance."Your first boyfriend should be like the first pancake. Just a tester to see if the griddle is hot enough." If this sounds like good advice, throw out that book of horoscopes and get some real advice from Girl Press. Now those Girls are at it again, with their own irreverent advice for young women on work, life, love, and impossible parents.

It's a tough world out there, and this book's short, sassy chapters are the cheat sheets. With lessons such as "The football captains of today are the burger jockeys of tomorrow," "Everyone's family is as freaky as yours," and "You be the judge, Judy," readers will be prepared for any test life--or that obnoxious little brother--thr! ows at them. This is a fun, inspiring read for high-school-ag! e girls, complete with lots of quotes from famous women, and retro photos from the 1950s and '60s. --Maria DolanWeekly news and general interest magazine which re-appeared between 2004 and 2007, and was distributed by inclusion inside certain local newspapers across the country. Hira Pandit (Mahima Chaudhury) is an actress who is nothing if not full of herself. Arrogant and thriving on only one thing - people adoring her unabashedly, and without stopping, just loving her! So naturally when this adoration stars to wane, she can't take it. Her vanity can't bear the fact that her popularity is slipping, that she's not getting nominated for awards, that her films simply aren't working like they used to. And at this fragile juncture of her life she runs into Digambar (Priyanshu Chatterjee), an old friend, whom she used to lovingly call Digs. Somewhere along the way, their lives had traveled down different paths. He's a drunkard, an ex-lawyer now very much out of work, who makes a living, singing in a cheap bar. He's counted the days and months and year since they last met but on this night when they accidentally meet he makes the one mistake that he shouldn't have...he criticizes Hira. He tells her that she needs to reinvent herself, do new work, and be less predictable on screen. This sends her into a tizzy, but it also sends her towards events that change her life forever. Hira finds herself the bona-fide drama, a real-life one, one that will surely take her back to the top! It's the story of a loving, traditional wife, the murder of her husband, a father-in-law who heads a non-political but powerful organization and the secrets that lie behind the closed doors of his "bhavan". A volatile world, which she enters purely to exploit for her own ends - is also the one that soon takes over her whole life. She begins to get attached to the women whose juicy story she had wanted just for film. She begins to see the strength in her lawyer friend whom she had merely considered a failure till now. As celluloid clashes with reality, it changes her forever.Hephaestus Books represents a new publishing paradigm, allowing disparate content sources to be curated into cohesive, relevant, and informative books. English subtitles by YA Entertainment.A 5-episode Mini Drama, Freeze stars Lee Seo Jin (Damo, Firebird, Shadowless Sword) as Jung Won, a vampire who has lived for most of his 350 years of age trying to forget the love he lost. He runs a luxurious bar with his friend and fellow vampire Ihwa (Park Han Byul of Ode To The Han River and Wishing Stairs). All she could do was observe and protect her friend from afar (emotionally), as! he closed himself to any new emotion, afraid of suffering the! same tr agedy. But once he meets human Ji Woo (Son Tae Young of Yeon Gaesomun and To Marry a Millionaire) all those emotions frozen by time start to melt away for Jung Won.This is a drama about a violinist,Jung Eun Soo, and a car designer,Park Dong Hyuk.Yoo Tae Joon is a director at a corporation who marries Eun Soo for ambition.Kang Yoon Jung is Dong Hyuk's hoobae and is in love with him.The drama will be about a pair of lovers separating due to parental objections and meeting again when the woman is already married.Legend has it, if you climb the 28 stairs leading to the school dormitory and count each step aloud, a 29th step will appear and a spirit will grant you a wish. If your intentions are honorable, your wish can be a blessing of good fortune. But at this high school, where paranoia and jealousy reign supreme, malicious wishes are about to unleash an unspeakable evil. Be careful what you wish for; some wishes were never meant to be granted. The South Korean "Ghost School" tr! ilogy comes to a close with Wishing Stairs, a typically creepy example of modern Asian horror. First-time director Yoon Jae-Yeon was fresh out of film school when she signed on for this commercial assignment, and her rookie status makes this a lesser entry in the "Asian Extreme" genre, following the trilogy's previous installments, Whispering Corridors and Memento Mori. Still, fine performances and attention to psychological detail make this an effectively eerie study of peer pressure, classroom cruelty, and blind ambition in a girls' art school, where three aspiring ballerinas make fateful wishes upon an enchanted staircase (or is it cursed?) near their school. According to legend, if you climb the 28 steps and count each step aloud, a 29th step will magically appear and a fox-spirit will grant your wish. Fierce competition, paranoia, and malicious intentions make these "wishing stairs" a recipe for disaster, when one girl commits suicide and another w! ishes for her revival. At that point, Wishing Stairs em! ploys st andard-issue horror techniques that will be familiar to anyone who's seen Ju-On or the Japanese version of Dark Water (including the ghostly girl with long black hair). For patient viewers, the film's frightful climax comes not a moment too soon. A comprehensive "making of" documentary is included, including interview clips with primary cast and crew. --Jeff ShannonWith delicately planned actions and many cameras rolling at once, along with carefully calculated editing, the action scenes in films today are becoming more and more extravagant. But follows the characters' emotions and catches the reality of the moment in showing 'emotional actions'. The actors threw and received real punches and got endlessly injured. From highly difficult and grand scaled action to spur of the moment scenes with no set story boards, SONG Seung-hun and KWON Sang-woo did most the scenes themselves without stunt doubles. Their passion and dedication to delivering real, emotio! nal actions can be witnessed in .

This two-volume set provides the only comprehensive, Western-language history of Pan-Asianism through primary sources and commentaries. The book argues that Pan-Asianism, oftenâ€"though unfairlyâ€"associated with the Yellow Peril, has been a powerful political and ideological force in modern Asia. It has shaped national identities and strongly influenced the development of international relations across Asia and the Pacific. Scholars have long recognized the importance of Pan-Asianism as an ideal! of Asian solidarity, regional cooperation, and integration but also as an ideology that justified imperialist expansion and military aggression. Yet sustained research has been hampered by the difficulty of accessing primary sources.

Thoroughly remedying this problem, this unique sourcebook provides a wealth of documents on Pan-Asianism from 1850 to the present, many translated for the first time from Asian languages. All sources are accompanied by expert commentaries that provide essential background information. Providing an essential overview of Pan-Asianism as it developed throughout modern Asia, this collection will be an indispensable tool for scholars in history, political science, international relations, and sociology. Its accessible presentation makes it a valuable resource for non-specialists as well. Many hours of smiles and cuteness... - Dramabeans
