Foxy Brown

  • Used - Like New
She's brown sugar and spice...and if you don't watch it, she'll put you on ice! Delivering a performance worthy of "the Queen of the genre" (Los Angeles Times), Grier portrays one of the screens first action heroines with humor, sensitivity and steely determination. This electrifying revenge thriller explodes with all the sex appeal and cooler-than-cool attitude of its irresistible leading lady. Foxy Brown (Grier) has found her soulmate in an undercover narcotics investigator, but when he is brutally murdered, she swears vengeance against the crime ring responsible. Posing asa call girl to gain access to the ring's inner circle, Foxy discovers just how high the corruption extends, igniting a blistering war that takes her from the city streets to a remote drug laboratory to a breathtaking midair battle behind the controls of an airplane! But the most startling confrontations a! re yet to come as she schemes to bring down her boyfriend's killers in ways they never could have imagined.Pam Grier, the voluptuous queen of blaxploitation movies (and the foxy title character of Quentin Tarantino's Jackie Brown) reigns supreme in this kick-ass action flick. Bodacious nurse Foxy takes the law into her own hands after her main squeeze is murdered in cold blood. The standard revenge plot of Foxy Brown moves along on fast-forward, and the violence ratio (some of it quite gruesome) is high. Director Jack Hill, a master of the low-budget drive-in movie (Switchblade Sisters), made Coffy with Pam Grier the year before. This one's not quite as much fun, but it is decidedly kinkier, and the parade of 1970s fashion crimes is mind expanding. At one crucial moment Foxy saves herself by pulling a concealed revolver out of her mighty Afro--absolutely one of the high points of blaxploitation cinema. --Robert Horton Pam Grier, the volupt! uous queen of blaxploitation movies (and the foxy title charac! ter of Q uentin Tarantino's Jackie Brown) reigns supreme in this kick-ass action flick. The Count of Monte Cristo

  • Alexandre Dumas' THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO follows the adventures of Edmond Dant s (G rard Depardieu), a 19th-century French version of James Bond or Batman, a rich, ruthless, and suave purveyor of homemade justice. This French production goes all out, having the destinction of being the first filmed version of the newly restored unabridged version of Dumas'ic, which runs about 800 pages.
A billionaire auto magnate's virginal teenage daughter falls in love with an older, free-spirited drifter. Their romance is one that her parents vehemently want to prevent. Lisa (Ornella Muti) is very curious to explore her new-found feelings of desire,What's your idea of justice... have you ever thought about it?

Spurning the advances of a Mafia don's cruel nephew, a beautiful peasant girl is punished for upholding her family's honor by being abducted and robbed of her virginity. Rebuked by ! her own parents and incurring the wrath of her village, the girl reports her rape to the local police, shattering centuries-old traditions in her unyielding quest for justice.

Damiano Damiani's THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WIFE marked the film debut of gorgeous Italian actress Ornella Muti (THE NUNS OF ST. ARCHANGEL, FLASH GORDON) and also features a strong performance by Alessio Orano (LISA AND THE DEVIL, THE KILLER MUST KILL AGAIN). Filmed on location in Sicily, this adult drama anticipates both THE GODFATHER and PRIZZI'S HONOR, and is based on a true police case that changed the course of Italian law during the 1960s. Shot by giallo specialist Franco Di Giacomo (FOUR FLIES ON GREY VELVET, WHO SAW HER DIE?), this gritty and hard-hitting film also benefits from one of the great, unheralded Euro-Cult scores of Ennio Morricone.Acclaimed actor Gérard Depardieu stars in the adaptation of Alexandre Dumas’ classic tale of love, intrigue and revenge.

The Count of Mont! e Cristo tells the dramatic story of Edmond Dantès, a young F! rench sa ilor who is falsely denounced as a traitor and unjustly imprisoned for eighteen years without a trial. After a daring escape, Dantès secures a treasure hidden on the island of Monte Cristo bequeathed to him by a dying inmate. Using these riches, he assumes a new identity and devises a plan to seek vengeance against all those who betrayed him.
